Lucy LOVES her baths. Loves them. This combined with the fact that I was a water baby, we figured a) she'd love the pool and b) she'd be a water baby too.
Getting ready to go, she was chatting with her daddy, giggling and laughing. We thought...good sign.
It started off...okay. We walked into the lobby and Lucy was chill. Happily looking around.
Once we got her into her swimsuit and swimmer diaper, she knew something was up. You can see in the picture that she's thinking about crying.
Then we got into the pool (she loved the shower before).
At first, she was totally down. Contemplative. The water was nice and warm (as warm as her baths) and she loved looking at the lights.
^^^There it is. The moment she realized she did NOT want to be at the pool. No bueno.
^^^That right there folks is a baby who is not digging the pool. I'm trying to convince myself that it has something to do with hot peppers (I cut some for dinner, washed my hands, touched my face, all the burning, soaked in sour cream, butter and whatever else I could think of, stopped the burning, but maybe she ended up getting some too?)
We tried to wait it out. We tried soothing. It would work for awhile, but then she'd catch a reflection of herself wearing a swimsuit and was not okay. Sigh.
We'll try again sometime in the future.
Any tips on how to survive the pool with a baby? Naive parents looking for answers.
