Let the Good News Roll...

This week has been such a whirlwind! No seriously.  I'm talking a vortex of wind of change.  Without getting into details, Mike lost his full-time teaching position due to a change in hiring policies.  As you can imagine with any new policy there are always a series of kinks to work out.  Let me tell you, we've been carrying the weight of impending unemployment since April.  Obviously not the most fun thing to deal with when you've got a baby on the way.

After literally months of applying to every and any position that came up, Mike ended up taking a temporary part time position that would end in December and was hired as a substitute teacher.  Not ideal, but we were going to work with it.  Well, imagine our surprise when one of his friends posted on Facebook about a potential full time teaching position in Edmonton.  Mike was contacted for an interview on Friday, had the interview the same day...and GOT THE JOB!!  For those of you who aren't familiar with the Edmonton Public Hiring process - it can be brutal and takes some people several months to complete.  We are so very grateful for all the support from both friends and family during the whole process.

We are both SO thrilled and Mike can't wait to start teaching his new students.  He's sad to say goodbye to the students he's been teaching for the past two years and leave the staff members behind, but we both feel that this is our next exciting adventure.

Lucy is pretty happy about it too...

Happy Saturday!

Love,
