September Spooks

Halloween '15

Some people start counting down the days until Christmas in September.  Mike and I are the kind of folks that bring up all the Halloween/ Fall decorations in September.  Halloween is our favourite holiday.  Hands down.  If I were more on the ball and the boss lady wasn't going through a "mom-must-hold-me-when-I'm-awake-because-I'm Lucy" phase I'd have the house decorated already.  Alas, all I've managed is a lonely scarecrow on our front porch.  I'm hoping to get the rest of our decorations up this week...then I promise I'll post some pictures. 

Last year we nailed the couple costume thing with our Burt and Mary Poppins impression.  It was so much fun to create a costume together.  In fact...we started planning out our costumes for this halloween on November 1 of last year.  I kid you not.  

Then miracle of miracles - Lucy came along.  We changed our plans.  (Thanks Pinterest).  We're finally put the last touches on our costumes for this year.  I can't wait to share pictures...but we'll have to wait until Halloween.  We're costume sticklers.  Sure we'll probably just take a million pictures and maybe go to the mall to trick or treat because Lucy is essentially our ticket to all the candy...but think of the memories.  We're doing this to create family traditions.  

Also, can I just say that Lucy is almost 2 months old?  She's grown so much since she was born.  Seriously.  She can hold her head up almost all by herself, loves to sit up on the couch (with pillow support of course) and can't seem to get enough of her swing.  It's been a blast watching her personality become more and more apparent.  Motherhood is nothing like I expected it to be, but it's the best thing I've ever decided to do.  No accomplishment thus far (I'm looking at you Bachelor of Education Degree) even comes close.
